With the blessings of Srimad Andavan, a devotee in Villivakkam, Sri Kalyanaraman offered a newly made Sri Garaudan Vaahanam was presented to Sri Padmavathy Sametha Sri Srinivasa Perumal Koil, at a cost of Rs. 1,30,000. This carved out of teakwood by a renowned Sthapathi. The figure of the Vaahanam was duly approved by H H before making.
This Garuda Vaahanam is a major acquisition by the Temple and comes in handy for taking the processional diety of Sri Srinivasar along the Koil Maada veethis on importatnt occasions.
This occasion came on this Tamil New years day, 14th April,2014,Jaya Varusham first day. On this day the Vaahanam underwent prathishtai with the blessings of Srimath Andavan. A homam was performed in the afternoon by Brihaspathi Sriman Narayanan. All the traditional rituals was followed and the vaahanam was formally commissioned. Later in the day, Sri Srinivasa Perumal was decorated on this Vaahanam and taken tiru Veedhi prathadchinam. A separate report will be made fo this.
